Beyond the Myth is a film about 'pitbulls' and those who love and defend them. It explores the contributing factors behind the public's generalized fear of 'pitbulls' and examines the conflict existing between advocates and opponents of Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). It also investigates the myths associated with the breed and asks the question, what exactly is a 'pitbull'?

Viewers are taken on a journey to four U.S. cities where Breed Specific Legislation focusing on "pit bulls" has profoundly impacted people and animals: Denver, Miami, Cincinnati, and San Francisco.

The documentary intelligently explores the contributing factors behind the public's generalized fear of  "pit bulls", and examines the conflict existing between advocates and opponents of breed discriminatory laws, commonly referred to as breed bans. It investigates the myths associated with these breeds, challenges the idea that they are inherently vicious, presents eye-opening research regarding the media's role in influencing people's opinion on dog attacks.

The doors at The Hyland Theatre will open at 12:30 pm where you can mingle, purchase merchandise and pick up informational materials.

Excellent radio show from Dave McMahon "All About Dogs"

I urge everyone to listen to Dave's radio show from December 18th entitled "Kim Craitor and Pitbulls".

Click on this link and scroll to Dec. 18th with the above title and hit play.

My good friend and colleague Selma was on Dave's show with Liberal MPP Kim Craitor, who signed on his support to Bill 16 Hershey's Bill. It was an awesome show and explains the issue and the Bill to repeal that has been tabled and up for second reading Feb 23rd. It is a tri-party supported Bill with PC MPP Randy Hillier tabling the Bill with co-support from NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo and Mr. Craitor.

Please pass this information along to anyone you think may be interested.

We hope to see you all at Queen's Park on Thursday February 23rd, 11:30 to 12:30. The YES WE CAN Rally is happening just prior to the second reading of Hershey's Bill. We are looking for record numbers at this event.

New song "This Way" inspired by Beyond the Myth

A new song inspired by Beyond the Myth, written and performed by Kimber
Cleveland and Roxie Randle. "This Way" is a son that conveys the feelings of
those who have lost their pets to BSL and the feelings of those who fight to
prevent it from happening ever again.

Kimber Cleveland wrote and performed the song "Strong for You" in Beyond the
Myth.

The dog in the video ~ "Fernie" ~ belongs to Libby, the writer/director/producer
of Beyond the Myth.
